The Honda civic 2012 Si is no longer powered by the high-revving K20 2.0-liter four. Honda civic 2012 Si has made way for a slightly modified version of the K24 2.4-liter also found under the hood of the Acura TSX that makes slightly more power (201 hp versus 197 hp), considerably more torque (170 lb-ft versus 139 lb-ft), but redlines at 7000 RPM instead of 8000 and is nowhere near as free-revving as its predecessor. And as a result, the character of the Honda civic 2012 Si is decidedly different.

Honda Civic 2012 Si
The tangible benefits of the Honda civic 2012 Si engine include a slight increase in acceleration performance, with base engine size 2.4 L, 201 horse power @ 7000 rpm, DOHC, an inline 4 Cylinders and16 Valves, Honda civic 2012 Si sprints to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds and runs the quarter mile in 15 seconds flat, two-tenths faster than its predecessor. The Honda civic 2012 Si also stops a bit sooner, requiring 121 feet to go from 60 mph to a dead stop. There’s also a slight uptick in fuel economy for the 2012 model with EPA mileage estimate to 22/31 mpg city/highway, from 21/29 mpg. The K24 is far from a bad motor, but it lacks the K20′s sublime — and somewhat immature — qualities.
The shifter is decent, but not as gloriously buttery-smooth as it used to be. Sometimes, you’ll money shift into fourth when looking for sixth. On the upside, pedals are positioned nicely for heel-toe shifting. Once up to speed and in your chosen gear, however, the Honda civic 2012 Si is delightfully toss able with barely a hint of under steer, thanks in part to the standard helical limited-slip differential. Overall, the steering doesn’t feel as quick as it should be in a Civic Si, but it remains responsive and accurate. Honda civic 2012 Si has an electronic brake force distribution which are good and not grabby. Basically, aside from losing the nearly rotary-level redline, the Honda civic 2012 Si also loses some of its predecessor’s smoothness.
Inside the Honda civic 2012 Si, it has a proper driver-oriented cockpit, with cruise control for the convenient within the driver’s reach. A number of fresh displays have been added into the Honda civic 2012 Si, including a sequential rev-limit display to the left of the speedometer. This screen also has VTEC indicator light. To the right of the Speedo is what Honda calls the I-MID screen which has a number of modes, the most important of which tell you what tunes you’re listening to, what your fuel economy is, and just how much power (as a percentage) the car is making at that very instant. All these equipment inside the Honda civic 2012 Si come at a price — a piece of the Si’s soul.
